Steve Kaufman - Charity Art

"GIVE KIDS A BREAK" INITIATIVE BY STEVE KAUFMAN

Steve Kaufman launched and operated "Give Kids a Break," a charity that took gang kids off the street or right out of jail and gave them a job at his studio. These kids would do his framing, cut his canvases, run errands, mix the paints, and other duties.

Over a period of about 15 years, Steve Kaufman had more than 1,000 kids come and go through his "Give Kids a Break" program. Most of the kids that Steve took under his wings went on to be productive members of society.

The following paintings were done by Steve Kaufman, with proceeds going to his charity.
In his loving memory, American Pop Art, Inc. would like to continue Steve's spirit of generosity and love by donating 20 percent of all funds from the sale of these paintings to a charity of your choice.

These paintings are oil on canvas silkscreens, and many are hand embellished. They are in editions of 50 "Give Kids a Break" proofs. The back of the paintings have Steve Kaufman's signature, SAK, and have the edition number from this "Give Kids a Break" proofs and his SAK stamp. These paintings should be framed to 20" x 20."
